Creator Guidelines

Uploading to WALLS.
What to know first.

Last updated: July 2026

WALLS is curated, not a dumping ground. These guidelines keep quality high and keep creators protected. Read this before your first upload.

01

Technical Requirements

Every upload is reviewed for quality before going live. Your file must meet these minimums:

  • Minimum resolution: 1920×1080 (Full HD). 4K (3840×2160) or higher preferred
  • Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, WEBP
  • Maximum file size: 25MB
  • No visible compression artifacts, upscaling, or blur

02

Ownership & Rights

You must own or have explicit rights to distribute anything you upload.

  • Original photography, illustration, or design work you created is always fine
  • AI-generated content is allowed if you disclose it and have rights to the output
  • Do not upload stock images, screenshots of other people's work, or anything you don't hold rights to
  • We may ask for proof of ownership if a piece is flagged or disputed

03

Content Rules

Uploads must not contain:

  • Nudity, sexual content, or content sexualising minors
  • Graphic violence, gore, or content promoting self-harm
  • Hate speech, slurs, or symbols associated with hate groups
  • Copyrighted characters, logos, or trademarked material you don't have rights to
  • Personal information about identifiable individuals without their consent
Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination — see our Terms of Service.

04

Tagging & Metadata

Good tagging helps your work get discovered:

  • Use accurate, descriptive titles — not clickbait or unrelated keywords
  • Tag by subject, colour palette, and style (e.g. "minimal", "nature", "dark mode")
  • Don't use misleading tags to game search or trending pages

05

Review Process

What happens after you upload:

  • Most uploads are reviewed within 24–48 hours
  • You'll get an email once your upload is approved or rejected
  • Rejected uploads include a reason — fix the issue and resubmit
  • Repeated rejections for the same issue may lead to upload restrictions

06

Commercial Licensing

Your uploads default to personal-use licensing for downloaders. Commercial requests currently go through hello@walls.ovrica.name.ng and are handled manually — we'll reach out to you by email before agreeing to anything on your behalf. See our Licensing page for the full process.

07

Removing Your Work

You can delete your own uploads at any time from your profile. Once removed, the wallpaper comes down from public view immediately, though copies already downloaded by users remain with them under the licence they were downloaded with.
